Palmiers

Well.....The other day my mom tells me that I'm going to get a chance to make some fancy desserts for a dinner that my family is having with friends. So, I say to myself in my head, "Ooo, I'll make palmiers because they will be challenging  to make and they'll look really pretty and fancy. And also, because I saw them at a bakery stand at the farmers' market in Salt Lake City and they looked really good( I think the bakery was Les Madeleines). So, the next day at school I get some free time to look for things on the internet on the computers at school. I then proceed to go to The Food Network Website and do a search for Palmiers. I click on the Ina Garten recipe because I figure that she seems like the kind of person who may be somewhat knowledgeable about the ins and outs of pastries. I open the recipe and am shocked by what I find. 3 ingredients!!! That can't be right. But it is. Wow, was I surprised. I still hope to make them even though they aren't as difficult as I thought they would be. Can't wait to see how they taste.

  1. But, Exley, once you're a pastry chef, you will have to make your own puff pastry. That will add a few more ingredients (and about 4 hours more time). :)
